1.  Who is Maureen Peal?  What does she look like?  Why do Claudia and Frieda hate her?
2.  How does Maureen stand up for Pecola? Based on your reading of the entire chapter, how do you interpret what comes next in the interaction?

3.  Why do the girls decide not to tell their parents about Mr. Henry, China, and the Maginot Line?
